Where will we transport clients to for appointments?
Anywhere from Hervey Bay to Brisbane and all points in between. Brisbane Hospitals, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Buderim Private Hospital, Noosa Private Hospital, Nambour Hospital, and Medical Centres and Specialists in those areas.
What areas will you pick-up from?
Any area in Gympie Regional Council Divisions 2-8.
Cooloola Cove, Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach are in Division 1 and serviced by Cooloola Coast Medical Transport (CCMT)
Will I be able to get transport to local Gympie medical facilities?
Generally, NO. Our licensing restrictions do not allow us to service local trips for example from Southside into Gympie. Existing services including Taxis, Community buses and care providers are able to be used for these trips.
We are able to transport clients from outlying districts into Gympie, there is a fee for this, however this transport is not eligible for reimbursement from Patient Transport Subsidy Scheme (PTSS)
I rely on my Wheelie Walker for mobility – Can I take it with me?
Yes. we can accommodate your collapsible Wheelie walker in our cars. Please inform our Office Staff when booking.
I rely on my Wheelchair for mobility - Can you take me and my Wheelchair?
If you only need a Wheelchair, simply to get to and from the vehicle to your home or the medical facility, then we will be able to cater to that need with our own collapsible wheelchair as long as you can stand up to transfer from the chair to car and vice versa.
Do Fees Apply?
Yes, GMT endeavours to keep our fees affordable. Our Office Admin. Volunteers will happily discuss when you ring to book.
Patient Transport Subsidy Scheme
The Patient Transport Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) is available for all our clients who need to travel outside the Gympie Region for their medical / surgical referrals and appointments. This subsidy is offered via Queensland Health and is available either online or forms are available at the Gympie Hospital or at GMT office. We have volunteers who are able to help you through this process. The rebates will offset a considerable amount of your fees.

What are your hours of operation?
Our Booking office hours will be 8.30am to 12.30pm, and clients can call in during these hours to discuss their needs or can phone and talk to our volunteers during these hours. We are not an Emergency Transport service; However, we will have an out-of-hours contact number for those times that unexpected changes occur to your planned trips.
